Ekco's birthday

We were fortunate to be able to celebrate Ekco's birthday with her in Fernely and in Sparks. She had some friends over for cake at her mom's and we got invited so... we loaded up and ate some cake. Xiana wore her new dress and everything...

Which spawned a major search for cowgirl boots just like Xiana's for Ekco... it took a while, and they aren't exactly the same but... they are cute and will suffice.
And Xiana took a picture of brother and I while daddy showered.
Then we hit the road. Ekco turned 10 this year. It's hard to believe that she is in double digits now... let the games begin! :) It was great to have an opportunity to meet some of her new friends. They seemed like sweet kids; very talkative and friendly. I'm glad to know that she is making her way in her new school. The ice cream cake was delicious! Plus, it was a welcome chance to get to know her mom a little better. I'm glad she invited us and I'm glad we went.
Ekco is a great girl. She is amazingly artistic and wants to be a fashion designer when she grows up. She is interested in all things pop culture and knows WAY more about celebrities than I do. She is so grown up in a lot of respects, yet clings to the little girl in her. She still prefers Barbie movies and is great at playing/ fighting with her little sister. She loves her new little brother and he spent a long time smiling at her and talking to her on her last visit. She is extremely articulate and pays great attention to details. She notices so many things that others (I) miss. She has a beautiful singing voice and loves to perform... but she is also quite shy and has to feel comfortable with you to share her musical talent. She loves "now" music but is broadening her horizons to country as well. She is a fish and LOVES to swim. Also, she continues to be obsessed with all things mermaid. She has a great memory and retains so much from church, school, and reading. She is a very fast reader. She loves movies. She is in a monster doll phase currently but was still pleased with her new itunes card and clothes. She helps out tremendously when she is here by helping with Xiana, picking up, and is a great bed-maker no matter what she tells you. Her favorite foods are tomatoes, steak, candy, and all things chocolate... plain chocolate. We are glad she's part of our family.
She could tell you every color on her cake with her own unique name... she's excellent at describing and categorizing.
Her gift card...
Monster high dolls...
and some dance video game. Happy birthday Ekco!
