4th of July

We had a wonderful fourth of July, albeit bittersweet remembering the sadness of only three years  before when dad died.  Still, time is a great healer, and I'm very grateful that we are able to enjoy this holiday again. We had a delicious barbecue at Mark and Tosh's house and the Hofmann's joined us for what would be their last few weeks in Sparks.  Then, we went to the fireworks at the Nugget. Unfortunately, with new management the fireworks this year were not that impressive. Still, it's so fun to go, and all our kids, including Argenta, were mesmerized.

Sundays in June

Matching Hair-do's and shiners with an unknown source.

Splish Splash

We didn't spend as much time at splash pads as we have in the past... partly because my kids are getting older... partly because we didn't squander and Lake Tahoe time! Still, we did get to go with wonderful friends a few times.

Dance

This year for Xiana's recital, she was a baby elephant. Her dance was absolutely adorable. It kind of made me sad she's choosing to do hip hop this year (although I think it's a great fit for her) because her little ballet class is DARLING.  So grateful for her dance teacher, Miss Heidi!

A little over 24 hours

I left on a girl's trip after work on Thursday night. By Friday night, I would be home again with the impending move (and subsequent death) of Brian's grandpa.  His grandpa had a stroke and was care-flighted to Reno.  He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.  A week later, we went to Vegas to attend his funeral.  Within the month, Ali and Jared would be divorced.

Isn't this life? We go from riding roller coasters to living them... all within a matter of moments.
