Premature farewell!

I said adieu to Lake Tahoe a bit premature this year.  As it turns out, November 5th is a perfectly appropriate date to go for a swim.  Who knew?  My friend discovered this magical little park with a perfect beach that apparently is open to the public during the off season... during the real season it's private.  It is literally not a second longer than 60 minutes from Wingfield Springs to sandy beaches.  I came unprepared as I didn't think for a second my children would brave the frigid waters so I had no swimsuits.  I did, however, have changes of clothes for all so I let them get hypothermia to their sweet hearts' content.  I have to admit, I was awfully proud as I watched them forget about the icy water and enjoy one of my favorite places on earth.  It was an absolutely perfect afternoon picnicking, splashing, and playing in the sand.  The play structure was fun too.  I almost thought I needed to bust out the sunscreen, but it turned out we were all right.  November 5th... it snowed the next day:)

Speechless

As in these kids are too darn stunning for words.  They seriously take my sweet breath away.  I love them both so dearly.  I wish they could see just a tiny little bit of what I see when I look at them.   I can only try to imagine how our loving Father in Heaven feels when he catches a glimpse of His amazing creations.  It is unimaginable.

Hanging out

Fake nails for birthday.... glow sticks for Halloween.... equals hours of entertainment.
One mirror..... one little boy... equals hours of entertainment!
  • Kolton's language has officially exploded.  He says just about everything, but some of my favorites are: "I no no" (with a shrug of his shoulders) "Sithy" (sissy) "nana" (Xiana) "Gecko" (Ekco) He sings, "ba pa ba pa yeah!!" (Back pack back pack from Dora) and "baby, baby, baby, ohhhhhh!" "car! bus! baby! oida (spider) tickle, tickle, light, tree, fire, hot, owee, one, two, tee, oh, bive! bite! turteee (turkey), and tant too (thank you)
  • When you ask him what a gorilla says he pounds his chest and makes the sounds. He also can mimic a bird, cat, dog, monkey, bear, lion, snake, and chicken.
  • He loves his little toy car and bus.  He carries them everywhere, wraps them in a blankie, calls them baby, and puts them in a stroller.  Oh my it's too cute for words.
  • He loads up bags with toys, gives kisses and says, "byee" as he heads out of the room only to return moments later and do it all over again.
  • He loves his fish light.  Every time I turn it on he lays on his belly with his chin in his hands in perfect concentration.
  • When you ask how old he is, he holds up one finger.
  • He answers all yes and no questions and pays attention.  We try to trick him, but he knows what we are saying and answers accordingly.
  • He's a darling little tazmanian devil that we love more than words can say!
  • Oh yeah, and he climbs EVERYTHING!
