growing

When we got home from Garrett's wedding, Kolton had decided he wanted to be potty trained.  I enthusiastically went to the store to get him a little potty.  I'm not a fan of two-year-olds potty training.  He was adamant though.  He uses it probably half the time.  I'm not trying to go gung ho or anything, but I think it will be a smooth transition when we get there. He loves to dress up and finds tutus far more exciting than captain america (and I dare say much easier to get in and out of).

  • There is truly nothing he can't say anymore, and he's speaking in full sentences.  Some of my most favorite expressions of his are: dang it all! Pwetty moon fwying (pretty moon flying), moon a eyeball!, I got it! self! (when he wants to do anything and everything without help including prayer), birds talking, Kolton did it! oh great! Kolton go in Janet car?, why? why? why?, read book, now!, Kolton funny, sissy funny, mommy funny!
  • Really the list goes on and on.  The other day when we pulled up, Ali's car was at our house and Kolton asked, "owie here?" yes, "oh, Great!!"
  • He hurt his hand and told me, "Kolton owie hand, call daddy cut it off" because Brian always teases them that he's going to amputate when they get injuries.
  • He has a charming sense of humor laughing most of the day and constantly finding himself and Xiana to be the most hilarious creatures on earth.

  • Xiana got school pictures which turned out darling. She's learning so much.  It's hard to believe that it will only be a few more months until she's in kindergarten.  My how the time has flown.  She's a huge help with her brother and is turning into an exceptional little cleaner.  She picks up after herself and Kolton daily!
  • The other day while driving she asked, "did you watch Hercules when you were a little girl? Oh wait, I forgot, television didn't exist when you were a kid." ha!
  • She's a delightful little girl!

We are starting them young on yard work!  They're semi-helpful.

Park

Apparently this new park is replacing my museum montages from last year.  Sorry, I just have such a trigger finger.  I can't resist snapping shots of everything they do at this delightful park.

Wedding

Because I was in the wedding, I really don't have many shots of the ceremony itself.  I plan on pillaging their supply (they had two professional photographers for the entire duration, morning to night).  It was a gorgeous, show stopping wedding.  They had delightful entertainment, ridiculously tasty appetizers and dinner, and everything was classy and polished.  It was an incredible day all around.

Rehearsal dinner

Well, it's official!  Garrett got hitched!  Fortunately, he married a beautiful, capable, smart, fun loving, loyal, and all around wonderful woman.  We couldn't be more thrilled with his selection in a wife!  The wedding was beautiful. They rented out this old historical building directly across from a beautiful cemetery in Placerville, CA.  We all met up there to do the rehearsal and then had a yummy Mexican dinner. There are many cute shops that we walked up and down Main street to view.  The best part was that, because it wasn't my wedding, I got to visit with all our family.   It's hard to believe that Garrett is a married man.  I'm so happy for them and truly can't wait for them to start their own little family!
