Salon party meets volcano party

Sometimes I like to pretend as if I'm one of those has it completely together so fun and cool moms.  It's not very often because I'm typically hyperventilating at the mess that is emerging right before my eyes.  But... when I do play the card, I'm all in!  So, we had a two day volcano party for Kolton and a four hour salon party for Xiana.  We got it all out of our system and only felt slightly guilty sending ALL the guest home with semi-permanent body glitter and paint.  It really was a lot of fun, and, though the volcano eruption was anticlimactic at best, the glitter tattoos were beyond my imagination.  We even let Argenta in on the action. It was a pretty awesome way to spend part of our winter break!

Shooting

We kept up our traditional new year family shooting day this year.  We were elated to find snow in the hills (an absolute anomaly for the past 3 years running! I'm not sure what happened to winter around here!) We only shot for a little bit before the kids persuaded their daddy to drag them up and down the hill on inner tubes.  Oh the fun they had! Argenta and I sat from the warm truck watching them and eating vanilla wafers. A few days later we went again, but the snow was gone so our baby got to wear her first set of ear plugs.  Life is good!

Argenta

No matter how much we try to convince her, this little girl just won't stop growing.  She's a delight with the sweetest disposition ever.  She's recently started walking around everything but is hesitant to take the plunge into true walking. She's talking and says, "mama, dada, baba, all done, hi, bye" all with incredible enthusiasm. She loves meat and vegetables.  She won't eat baby food, and she doesn't love fruit.  Although she will put down an apple in no time. She's ticklish, she smiles her gap toothed smile if you so much as look at her, she's independent and is happy to bebop around the house getting into things.  She's the fastest crawler I've ever seen! She is the best eater we've had yet. She loves crab and fish, spaghetti, and all things chocolate (which she really shouldn't know yet). She just got her first ear infection which I consider great success since she's ten months old! She has hair for days with ca-licks that force it into her eyes, so she has to have pony tails virtually all the time.  She points at things everywhere we go sometimes yelling as she goes.  She's really loud.. surprise surprise.  Her daddy says she's a REALLY good baby.... her mommy definitely agrees!
