House

  • Some things that go on in my house, might be similar to things that go on in your house.
  • If the kids are doing headstands... the baby will not be left out.
  • There is A LOT of wrestling that takes place in our living room.  This is one of the main reasons I do not want to get rid of the carpet.
  • We listen to music (Kolton's daily request right now is, "look for Her Lips Taste Like Sangria"!)
  • There is a lot of climbing that goes on too.  Argenta climbs on top of anything she can and says, "weeeeeee"
  • There's a fair amount of superhero business... especially when Kolton's best friend Jacob gets to play. Kolton also frequently prays that he can play with Jacob.  It's darling
  • When Xiana is gone, and Kolton is watching TV, Argenta has no choice but to pounce on him, throw dolls at him, and try to get his attention anyway she knows how.
  • There is a fair amount of hair styling that takes place too.  Kolton loves to have a Mohawk, and Xiana LOVES when I let her brush her hair dry.  It makes this crazy giant afro and she prances around swinging her hair in circles. It is her favorite hairdo!
  • Lately we have been doing many puzzles compliments of Aunt Ali getting Argenta her very own sets.
  • And we dress up.... a lot.
  • There are nightly back massages for daddy which typically end up with one or all of the kids getting sent out of the room for jumping on his back... I swear he never learns.  The kids love to do it, and daddy pays them a dollar to rub lotion into his feet.
  • We do some cleaning. The bigger kids are learning how to load and unload dishwasher. The baby's favorite chore is mopping.  She will dash into the laundry room and grab out the mop any chance she gets.
  • We do some eating... some of us are messier than others.
  • And when we watch TV, we all bundle up in blankets because the swamp cooler is COLD. On Sundays we watch Mormon messages sometimes for hours.
  • I like our house. I'm grateful for it and consider it a refuge from the world.  Even though there is also a fair amount of fighting that takes place in these walls, I recognize how very fortunate we are to live here with the people who share our roof... family.
