Home again home again, Jiggity Jig

Brian was good to find projects for Kolton after we returned home. Xiana got to go to school, and friends' houses, and pretty much carry on like usual, but for Kolton, life got really really slow around here.  He played with real tools for hours. I was a little apprehensive about the hammers, but Brian said, "he has to learn sometime." I guess that's a dad for you. We played dress up with the baby, found art projects for the big kids, and pretty much got lost in the void of babyhood for a few weeks.  Argenta's hair gets lighter every day.  At her one week check up, she was almost back up to her birth weight of 7 lbs so her doctor said we could forgo the 2 week check. Yahoo! Her umbilical cord fell out after only 5 days, so she got her first bath long before our other kids.  She loves the water... like she has a choice! For mothers' Day, Brian and Garrett made a wonderful spread and Brian brought me flowers.  Mother's Day with a tiny infant is a bit surreal.  It's hard to experience such peace, happiness, and complete and utter chaos all at the same time.  Babies bring that: peace, beauty, chaos, fear.  They evoke every emotion at the same time.  All in all, the first weeks home with Argenta were successful.  I found myself trying more than ever to relish every moment knowing that it would be all too fleeting, and also that she is our last. Xiana is a great help, and Kolton is very tolerant.  It probably doesn't hurt that he gets to watch a lot more tv these days.
