On Halloween we went to the pumpkin patch, then to Mark and Tosh's house for a delicious dinner, then dad met us to go trick or treating. I tried to make Xiana's hair red, but the color didn't take perfectly. The kids were darling though, and pretty good sports to be in costume from morning till night.
Kolton came across another tiger and noticed.
There was a magic show at the pumpkin patch. I can't tell you how many times Xiana said that she hoped she got to be a helper.... all the hoping paid off. She was selected as the sidekick to help levitate the table. Plus, he gave her her own little dove. She was extraordinarily pleased.
We discovered that Kolton LOVES mashed potatoes. He ate his weight in them before trick or treating. He did a decent job out too. The problem was that he was pretty sure the candy should go directly from the peoples' hands to his mouth, wrapper and all. It made him angry when they tried to put candy in his bag, and he invariably made it inside their houses leaving his bag when he left. He said, "teet" a few times, but I'm pretty sure he thought the magic words were, "tant too" (thank you) as that's what he yelled over and over again. Eventually I put him in the stroller, let him double fist the suckers and walked him up to every door so people could see his costume. That kid has a wicked sweet tooth! We finished the night at Al and Helen's in our traditional fashion. Marie passed away a few weeks before so it was a little strange. Still, it was wonderful to visit and they sent my already so full of candy they might burst children home with more candy.
