We went to Stampede for the day to meet up with some of Brian's family and swim. It was a lot of fun.... but very, very cold. We packed for summer with high hopes of spending the day in the water. As we were leaving Brian asked, "did you pack sweatshirts for everyone?" Indeed I had not and thought it quite silly. What great foresight on his part.
We got in until our extremities were numb and then spent the rest of the day trying to fight off hypothermia and pneumonia. Some were successful, some were not... more on that next post.
Brian and Ekco wading in the water which was, just for the record, not as cold on this side than the first.
Mark brought his boat and the kids didn't even need to be out on the water to enjoy themselves.
But it helped...
This little boat can really book and it was exciting to bounce around the lake. Xiana went, first with me, then insisted that she not be left out when Aunt Ali and Ekco went. True to her roots, she is a water girl through and through.
Then it was time to leave. Xiana was not happy :( Most parents would have reached for their children to console them. I reached for my camera. She was just too cute.
