Argenta Jade Andersen

How can it be that my baby is one? Surely she was just born yesterday!!! Time flies so quickly it's hard to catch it.  She was a darling little birthday girl clearly requesting spaghetti and chocolate for her dinner.  It rained hard enabling Mark and Tosh to ditch baseball and come to dinner along with mom, Garrett, Kevin, Ali, Jared, and Ella and Row.  She very quickly got the hang of opening her presents despite her siblings' best efforts to do it for her.  She also ate a ton of spaghetti followed by a giant piece of chocolate cake.  Kevin gave her a card that sings a song when you open it yet.  She danced and sang to it and then carried it around with her for months afterwards.  We gave her the little dolly that reminds us of Xiana. We ordered it the day we found out she was a girl.  It was a special day. My only sadness was that dad wasn't there with us.  So, per my usual 1 yr. bday... an alphabet about our girl.

Oh Chuck E Cheese, we haven't spent much time together and yet.... we somehow managed two visits in one months! My kids were beyond thrilled. Even Argenta began to get the hang of putting the grimy tokens in the machines to make them work.  I walked around pulling dozens of pictures of both of them from machines they'd ridden several times, not noticing that each ride produced a little image of them.  It was fairly hysterical.

B Town

We went on a quick trip to Battle Mountain to meet our newest niece Paislee Andersen.  We went on a hike, shot some guns, caught some horny toads, did some dancing, and tried on some scary masks.  All of the kids played great, but none so well as Harlee and Kolton.  They are truly cut from the same cloth.  Two peas in a pod. Their personalities are so similar, and they are both often the marginalized group with cousins.  I'm so grateful they have each other.  They played and played the entire trip without a single moment of fighting! Argenta got her first taste of jealousy when I held their newborn.  She screamed at me and said, "no baby! no baby!" She only cared if I was holding the baby.  It was really cute!
